Dish Network equipment consists of a Dish Network Antenna, also known
as Dish Network Satellite Dish or simple Dish, Dish Network receiver and
a remote control.

| Dish Network Antenna or the Dish Network Dish is the basic antenna for getting the Dish network signals. These antennas are round or dish shaped and therefore called dish antennas. You need to install this antenna on your rooftop with a clear view of the south sky. Generally, the Dish Network antenna, and receivers are free with the subscription packages. | ![]() |

Dish Network receivers are the set top boxes that are part of the standard Dish Network equipment. Dish Network receivers are also known as decoders and its main function is to decode the encrypted digital signals into broadcast signals for your TV sets. |
You will require different receivers for viewing different programs for TV sets located in different rooms. Again, the Dish Network offers up to four receivers free with subscription packages and you will have to pay nominal charges towards extra receivers. The dish network receivers have some innovative features such as HDTV, Pause and Play, Slow motion, recoding and playback facilities, timer, parental control and many more.
Dish Network offers Non Standard Equipment as well!
The dish network receiver, satellite dish and a basic remote are essential
equipment for the Dish Network. Without them, there is no network. However,
what will set your connection apart are those thoughtful little extra
dish network accessories that really make the difference to your viewing
experience. A few of the accessories that will really enhance your viewing
pleasure are displayed below:
| IR to UHF converter for the remote Ordinarily, the remote on your receiver is an infrared (IR) remote. IR as you may be aware is a line of sight link. That means that even if you have hooked up four TVs as Dish Network does free for you, you could only operate the receiver if you were in the same room as the receiver. The IR to UHF converter makes your remote radio based. This means that you can now operate it from any room in the house. Installation is simple; just plug it into the mains! |
|
| Wireless Phone Jack Very often, you may not have a phone jack near the receiver. However, your receiver needs to communicate with the network for a pay per view TV experience. Just plug the base unit to a phone jack and an electrical outlet. Then plug the extension unit into an electrical outlet along with the receiver. Amazing! Your electrical wiring now extends the phone line over the electrical line! |
|
| Spare Remote Never hunt for the remote again! A spare remote can be included along with your order. |
|
| Surge Protector This is a heavy-duty surge protector for your investment. It will protect up to eight AC outlets, satellite TV coaxial cable and your phone line from electrical surges that could fry the sensitive and delicate circuitry of your equipment. Consider investing in this if you stay in an area with thunderstorms or with power fluctuations |
|
| This is not an accessory. This fully mobile kit can be used in a car, a truck or even a boat! You will not miss your favorite programs again. | ![]() |

Besides these, the Dish Network receivers are at times pure magic. The functionality they offer is often out of the world. Interactivity in TV is not something that my generation will take for granted. It is too novel and powerful a feature. Yet, your children will wonder how TV could have ever functioned without this!
